When Buck transfers to the 122 after fighting his way back from a crushed leg, he expects a fresh start. But he doesn’t expect a Captain like Sal Deluca, who offers Buck a lot more than just the space to finally grow into his bones.
(AU set after the ladder truck bombing in which Buck doesn’t return to the 118, but instead switches stations.)

Summary
Following Bobby’s death and the Season 8 finale, Buck starts to develop some worsening pain in his bad leg. He ignores it, at first, the pain always comes and goes after all.
Though when he finally gets to the doctor and gets diagnosed with cancer, his situation really hits him. He really doesn’t have anyone right now and is going through it.
