The ceiling wasn't a particularly interesting thing to look at... but for the last nine months that's all he's been staring at each night. Every night, exhaustion eating away at him as frost nipped his sides. He used to sleep next to Jimmy like this. Every night. It was even like that when they hadn't been dating; he fondly recalled those sleepless lights during 3rd life when Jimmy had had a nightmare and needed solace. They used to lay next to eachother, either in the fields of flowers or Scott's bed. The night would eat away at their minds, the reminder that the next day could be their last. But they had eachother.... now... he was alone.
Thinking about then just made him feel sick. A reality that slipped through his fingers and left him in bed alone at night. The elf turned onto his side, facing the blank wall that stood in the place of his double bed hed long since removed. As his thoughts ebbed away at his brain, darkness lidded his eyes.

One moment Grian was walking over the street, searching for some place that he could get food from. The next the was laying on a bed in a medical room on a spaceship surrounded by weird looking people.
One of the people there offers him a job in exchange for a roof above his head, food and all the pleasure that he could ever want.
At first Grian isn't sure about the whole situation, but the hermits grow on him pretty quickly.
