Robby’s shoulders tense up in a way that Miguel has started to recognize as him about to get defensive. “There a problem with that?”

I just didn’t expect it, he was going to say. But really, he’s realizing that he has very little grounds for having any expectations about Robby. He hardly knows anything about him. Really, the only thing driving his assumptions about him right now is the fact that he was (is?) a Cobra Kai. Maybe that’s why he’s finding it so hard to trust him.
He frowns down at the cake. “You didn’t poison this… did you?”
Robby rolls his eyes. “Just trying to make things right, for my dad. He’s finally trying to fix things with me, so I’m trying too. With him, and with you. It’s an act of goodwill, Diaz. Take it or leave it. I don’t really give a shit.”
