This zombie is...different. Special. He can think. There's a mind in there, Tim knows it. He's seen it. Seen him react to things. Seen him make decisions. He eats food, not human flesh. He drinks water. He sleeps.

Ra's domain had just go boom.
Tim was proud of his plan, but the aftermath could have been better. Failing to properly escape Ra's grip had been a major issue.
Not that being left for dead in a cave with a major chest wound was marginally better.

Summary
After graduating high school, Danny moved to Gotham to study and work and importantly not having to fight ghosts on a daily basis. Each hour spent as Phantom means two hours recovering for him, so he avoids it as best he can. As the Ghost King, he can't avoid it fully. He does well to stay under the radar, until his boss, Lucius Fox, wants him to work on a Top Secret Project. Coincidentally, he befriends Tim, not realizing who he is dealing with at first. Then Tim helps him recover after a rogue attack, and friendship turns into love quickly.
