    September 1982
    The war is over. Voldemort was defeated on October 31, 1981. Regulus Black discovered Voldemort’s horcruxes and informed the Order of the Phoenix, which destroyed them. When Voldemort arrived on Halloween to kill baby Harry, the Order was standing by, ready to kill him first.
    Almost a year later, the Marauders and their friends are rebuilding their lives.
    Everything is going well for Sirius Black.
    Everything but love.

    On the balcony overlooking the Memphis horizon, Hephaestion grips the stony balustrade while Alexander peels back his tunic to kiss his shoulder. "What is it?" Alexander hums against his skin after circling his tongue around a beloved freckle.

    Hephaestion sighs wistfully, keeping eyes deliberately straightforward. Such a lovely view of the city at night from this vantage, but Alexander has the most gorgeous of spectacles in his arms. He continues his entreaty, sucks a kiss up his neck to his jaw. Hephaestion jerks away when Alexander attempts to capture his lips.

    "You deny me your mouth?" Alexander asks, part-hurt and part-indignantly.

    "Did not know you yet sought it," Hephaestion cooly answers. Alexander scoffs, so he answers a curt and honest: "I don't want her spit on my tongue."

    The breeze is softly relentless. So is Alexander.

    Or: Can the greatest military strategist of all time maneuver himself into his displeased darling's bed?

    “My apologies, Wanyin. Could you say that a bit louder for everyone else?” Jiang Cheng couldn’t see his face, but he could hear the amusement rolling off his words.

    “Your eyes.” Jiang Cheng growled, louder this time.

    Or: Lan Wangji is kidnapped from the Lan Clan when he's still a small child. He retains no memories of his real identity, and only knows himself as a servant at Madam Ji's brothel. When the clients begin to look at him with interest, he finds someone to curse him and take away his true appearance, and with it any chance of ever finding his family.
