Legs pulled up off the ground, chest heaving, one hand holding tight to his arm, she pushes her glasses back up her nose. A streak of orange at the very periphery of his vision.

    “Robin–” his father starts, but Damian has already ducked beneath the spread of his cape, pressing himself close in the night's chill.

    The air is crisp, settling uncomfortable in his lungs and tightening his chest. Damian wears the thermals, he isn’t so idiotic to forgo them once the autumn months begin, but in this depth of winter — ice crusted gargoyles and glinting snow piles — it is far from enough. He shifts his weight, leaning more fully into Batman’s side while exhaling a cloud of fog that disperses far too slowly.
