A curtain of light raked across the surface of the world, kicking up a dust storm harsh enough to flay flesh from bone and burning the air hot enough to cook lungs with a breath. The patient’s memory was scarred by jagged stones shooting across their flesh and dying screams filling their ears. It shocked them to hear again, so clearly against the raging storm of fire that had already consumed the rest of their mind.
