Poe stopped his ongoing conversation with the servant girl, his smile falling as he processed Hux’s words and outfit. Then, after slowly, too slowly, eyeing Hux up and down, the smile returned. Hux could have choked him to death, right there. Turning back to the servant girl, Poe exchanged a few words, a laugh, then turned to Hux. “She said you’re ready.”
“I’m wearing more gold than I am clothing.” Hux bit back.
The servant girl, oblivious to Hux’s sour mood, chirped something to Poe and from the smirk on Poe’s face, Hux prepared himself for absurdity. “She said they have more earrings in the back, if you don’t like those ones-”
“The earrings are fine!”
