Harry Potter, boy who lived, soon-to-be savior of the wizarding world, was currently on the brink of death by starvation. He was doing good though, he was following his orders to the t. Even if it killed him, he would stay with the Dursleys.
Severus Snape had other ideas.
Assigned by the Order to guard wonder boy for a week, the man dutifully sat in a tree for the better part of three days. After half the week had passed, Severus still hadn't seen signs of the boy alive. Too curious to resist the temptation, he investigated.
