“We need to get out of the forest,” Reynolds said, his lips moving in a shout Brimsley could barely hear, even half on top of the man. His head was ringing.
Still, the words registered, and Brimsley nodded, looking up and around.
They needed somewhere safe to wait out the storm.

Summary
“Did you have a nightmare?” Brimsley asks. He tries to move, and groans. Reynolds presses a hand to his wound, even as more and more blood stains his glove.
“Yes,” Reynolds croaks. “Yes, I did. I had a nightmare that you got hurt.”
OR
Brimsley is well-liked amongst most of the staff, but there are some who envy his position. When pranks against him escalate and Brimsley gets hurt, Charlotte realises just how much she cares for him... and how much a certain King's Man does, as well.

Summary
Chapter One:
The smile that spills over Brimsley’s face is surprising indeed. He was quite prepared to be maudlin and grumpy this morning, and yet he finds he cannot be miserable when his heart is swelling with so much love.
He presses a kiss to the note and smiles to himself, kicking his legs out of bed and squaring his shoulders. A wonderful day; well, he can at least try.

Chapter Two:
Reynolds carefully opens his fist and looks again at the poem, pressing his lips together with the effort of keeping himself from snorting. This is the most ridiculous thing he has ever read.
He tucks the poem away into his pocket, breathing through his nose until his racing heart calms a little and the urge to laugh recedes.
"If you are trying to make me break," he says out of the side of his mouth, in the faintest whisper, "You will have to do better than that."

Summary
As the carriage rolls onto the main street and their journey truly begins, Reynolds’ every nerve ending seems determined to focus on the bare inch between his and Brimsley’s fingers. "You seem very familiar to me. I can’t say why that is." As Aziraphale spoke, Crowley turned away from the fire, and Aziraphale was momentarily concerned that the spell had been broken, that he had crossed some invisible line. But Crowley smiled and brought his beer to his lips.
"Maybe we met in a past life. Does your lot believe in that?"
"Past lives?"
"Yeah."
Aziraphale smiled into his wine. He was sure Crowley was poking fun, ever so slightly, but he liked it. "Not strictly speaking. No."
Crowley shrugged, taking another long sip of his beer. “A mystery then."
After receiving direct instruction from God, village reverend Aziraphale leaves his countryside congregation to serve the underserved and in-need at an urban church in London, a transition made all the more complicated by the mysterious and handsome Crowley, who always seems to appear when Aziraphale least expects him.

Summary
Aziraphale Z. Fell is a rising star of the spiritual literary genre - the next Eat Pray Love guy - and his version of Chicken Soup For the Christian Soul is flying off the shelves. It's not that he's not grateful, but it's one thing to enjoy a career in writing and another completely to be pigeonholed into a specific genre, so much so that you are almost forbidden from writing anything else.
So yes, maybe he has a bit of a secret. An outlet for his less... appropriate urges. And yes, if his typical readership got word of the sort of paragraphs he could put out on a particularly inspired night, they might suffer some form of heart attack typical for their age.
But all of that is well hidden, and there is absolutely no way anyone would ever find out about his Arrangement with A.J. Crowley - the most debaucherous romantic fiction author of the decade.
That is... until they have to pretend to be married to each other.
