Gangle and Zooble had immediately run off to who knows where when Caine announced the update had gone live. Pomni didn't know what Jax and Ragatha's reactions were—Jax had left the moment the AI said the word "sex" and Ragatha had left after the word "npc." She hadn't asked the next time she saw them because... quite honestly, she didn't want to know. Kinger had patiently listened to Caine explain the mechanics of it all and then politely declined—he didn't want to imagine being with anyone other than his wife, and that ship had already sailed years ago.
As for Pomni herself...
Well.

“Caine?” Pomni asked again. The orb drifted up and down in a nod. “How do I know it’s you? Why do you look so…” Small, weird, different. She’d been anticipating seeing a Caine clawing at the walls, or crying, or yelling. How ever she imagined finding Caine, he looked like, well, Caine. Not this.

The plan was simple: undelete Caine, get the Circus back up and running, and place some restrictions so Caine couldn't mess with them.
Unfortunately, Caine and the Circus are a little more complicated than meets the eye.

As if reading his mind, Luo Bingmei laughs, legs shifting farther apart as he lounges in his chair as if it's a throne and not some falling-apart wicker that, if he knows himself, Luo Bingmei had probably woven painstakingly. "This room is well-ventilated, you know. You have to breathe in the smoke directly for it to really do much to you." I'm not poisoning you, he heavily implies, and even if I was, it would be your fault for standing here.
"It probably wouldn't do a thing to me anyway," Luo Binghe bites back, hating the words as they leave his mouth. He sounds like some little brat craving attention. "This lord's cultivation has reached heights the likes of you can barely dream of."
Luo Bingmei does not look suitably impressed by this. "Is that so." He takes another long pull from the pipe, holding the smoke in his mouth for a moment before leaning forward slightly to exhale.
Luo Binghe finds himself inhaling as it curls toward his lips.
