Summary
The world always rejects simplicity.
When the survivors of the 53rd killing game escape, they are met with an absurd reality: Their friends are alive again and Danganronpa’s future has been thrown into chaos. Disagreements over how to properly end the twisted game soon threaten to split the freshly reunited group. Amidst this uncertainty, Shuichi decides to help a despondent and traumatized Kirumi, which conjures unusual feelings in them both. “Puhuhu. I see how it is...” Monokuma brings his paws to his two-toned mouth. “The blackened has no need for the First Blood Perk. They’d rather do a class tri—”
“It was me.”
Kaede’s blood chills. Words leave her, and her heart falls silent.
Monokuma blinks. “Huh?” He along with the Monokubs, Kaede, and her classmates, all turn to the voice.
“Sh-Shuichi...?!” whispers Kaede. “What are you—"
“It was me,” Shuichi says again, shifting on the spot. “I did it. I uh... I killed Rantaro...”
The library is silent for a few moments.
Then all hell breaks loose.
Shuichi claims the First Blood Perk in Kaede's place, and in doing so, changes the entire course of the Killing Game. Different choices are made, new dynamics form, and, as per the rules, only two survivors can emerge from the world stained red with reality, and pink with delusion.
