I’m not actually sure…” James trailed off, but picked up again with a stern look from Audrey. “Sorry. He heard Tess tell Siegfried that he should just tell… someone… how he feels. And Siegfried asked what if she doesn’t feel the same way? What if she leaves? And Tess said that’s a risk he’d have to take.”
James was frowning, clearly uncomfortable with his place on the grapevine. Audrey, too, was frowning. “But that don’t make any sense… Why would Dorothy leave? But I suppose if they’d just argued -”
“Mrs. H,” James cut in, “They weren’t talking about Dorothy.”
