Everything was just different. After nogitsune. Stiles felt weak and used. Everything was different. His relationship with Scott, with Lydia, with Allison, with the whole pack. He'd be damned if another thing use him again. He wanted, no needed, to get stronger so he wasn't the weak link. So he doesn't feel like being protected all the time. He wanted to be able to stand on his own feet. So maybe training with Deaton to be a druid was the best thing. Not to mention there's another pack that wanted to take Beacon Hills as their place.

Len took a moment to collect his thoughts, pursing his lips and sucking on his teeth to refrain from sighing heavily. Jim was in no state to hear the full scale of his lecture on health and bad decisions, not now.
He had a guilt complex a mile long, and had for as long as Len had known him. Hell if he knew what to do about it, but right now it was taking its toll.
He was exhausted. He was making himself sick. And he looked so damn defeated.

Summary
Stiles gets very good at putting himself back together. He learns which cuts just need butterfly bandages and which need actual stitches and he knows to keep a needle threaded because trying to get everything ready when you're shaking from blood loss is fucking hard. (Not impossible though, he learns that too. There's not much that is impossible when you don't have any other options.)
Post 5A - Stiles may not be in the pack anymore, but that doesn't mean he's going to stop fighting.
