His consciousness is tugged and pulled and scattered into millions of little particles, and the air- at least it should be air- around him is thick and syrupy and surrounds him like a net. The fabric of time and reality is folding around him, bending to fit his shape perfectly."

“But you’d die,” Tallulah pointed out, sounding about as nonchalant about death as you’d expect.
“Yup,” he agreed. “I had a good run.”
He did lie down then, folding his hands over his stomach and closing his eyes. For now, and in front of the children, he could pretend that his death would be a nice one.

The Vault spun below them in the void, one of the generation ships that brought humanity to this system, long abandoned and derelict. A metal wheel full of who-knows-what. Potentially full of valuables, potentially full of danger, where his family was going in a matter of hours. If it all went well, they would gather valuable materials to bring back to the asteroid colony the Hunter called home. If it didn’t, well. A lot could go wrong in an abandoned spaceship. Tubbo glanced at the clock on the wall and how close they were to The Vault now. They were going in in a matter of minutes, really.
