Theorized to be part of a shared evolutionary chain, both species are largely a mystery to anthropologists and biologists alike. Both species are believed to share a common ancestor with the saiyans, though they are believed to have come from a sloth-like divergence in the evolutionary tree. In an effort to compensate for the meager nutrition of the typical leaf-based diet this ancestor, with the aid of a unique blend of moss and photosynthetic bacteria, were able to evolve a completely unique method of gaining nutrients. As their green skin implies, a complex system of chloroplasts helps convert sunlight into energy with only minimal dietary supplementation. This unique evolution has led both species to have a nearly vestigial digestive structure devoted primarily to obtaining vitamins and minerals. While their diet makes resource competition minimal Sadala's diverse ecology has ensured both species are as geared fro combat as the rest of the island's inhabitants. While namekians forego tools sapidalias demonstrate early metal working similar to sadala's human inhabitants.
