Viggo Grimborn was a broken man. His entire life, he was taught that dragons were something to be hunted, creatures to be culled. He was taught to never trust anyone, everyone lies. He was taught to never get attached, that love was weakness. He was ok with being the villain. His grandfather taught him well.
He lived by these rules for so long, that when a hero came and wrecked every single one of them, what could he do but fall?
The least he could do is die protecting the one he loved. He was destined to have a tragic end.

Summary
The time comes for Hiccup to finally prove himself in front of all of Berk, and he knows he can't do it. He won't do it. Convinced there is no way he could ever change people's minds about dragons, he runs away from home and into the great wide world, where he learns to live and love, and touches the lives of many.
Meanwhile, life on Berk carries on much the same. How much of a difference could one scrawny little boy have made anyway? Five years after the chief's son's disappearance, how much of a difference can Astrid Hofferson make in the war against the dragons?
This is the story of Hiccup, and how he became the elusive Dragon Master. It is also the story of Astrid, Snotlout, and everyone else, if a certain very strange enchanted boy had departed from their lives too early.

Summary

Now, Drago Bludvist, a dangerous madman who can't be reasoned with, was coming to Berk. In a desperate attempt to save his people, Stoick took a mad gamble- he reached out to the Dragon Master.

Summary
Astrid, to no ones surprise, is the fiercest warrior her age on Berk. After Hiccup was carried off and killed nine years ago by a dragon - she and Berk have never been the same. Then, three years ago, her life was shaken again by a masked rider who appeared during the raids upon the unholy offspring of lightning and death. The rider somehow aids the dragons and the village.
While most of the village speculates whether the rider is a demon from Hel, Astrid realizes something that shatters her worldview. If someone can ride a dragon, then everything they know about them is wrong.
