Summary
It's been a long time since they were close like this. It happened more often when they were younger, when it was easier for them to squeeze into the same place. Since they hit middle school they've become a lot more conscious—well, Teresa did, it took Thomas a little longer to catch on—about where they are. It started by limiting PDA to hugs and falling asleep on each others shoulders, but has now been reduced to holding hands in the hallways. Thomas hadn't realised how much he missed holding her until now.
Teresa pulls back slightly, or more accurately sways on her feet, and Thomas catches a whiff of the alcohol on her breath. She smells like a motherfucking distillery, and… "Oh, you came out here to smoke didn't you?"
In another universe, Thomas and Teresa spend the night together at a party and nothing goes wrong.

Summary
Mike laughs on the other end and Bill can picture her, the version she remembers at least. Tiny, at just barely 12 years old, and stretched out across her bed with her fingers curling around the phone cord, talking to Bill through time and space. I just wanted to say hi. I missed you... "Yeah, that's right. Sorry for calling so early, but I wanted to get to everyone around the same time."
Bill thinks she must say something in response to Mike's apology but she isn't sure what. She doesn't feel her mouth move or hear her voice croak, it's like her head has been plunged underwater and everything around her is muffled. She feels kind of surreal, a panic building in her chest that she can't let herself swallow lest she drown with it.
Mike calls Bill, 27 years later.

"I don't see what the problem is, Popeye," Mike continues talking over Steve's indignant splutter, "Just give us the discount and we'll be out of your—hair." He's let go of Max's hand to spread his arms out in what is probably meant to be a diplomatic gesture but is too awkwardly steeped in teen gangliness to communicate anything other than an odd flailing.
Steve puts his head in his hands, raking his fingers through his hair as he readjusts his hat. What the fuck is wrong with your life, Harrington? he laments to himself.
Starcourt Mall is running a promotional campaign across their stores, offering discounts and deals to couples. Max Mayfield and Mike Wheeler take the opportunity to engage in one of their favourite past-times: bullying Steve Harrington.

Summary
Once Mikes stomach has been sufficiently emptied Bev takes action, manhandling her into the bathtub with unquestionable authority. She gives Mike the good end (the one without the taps) and squeezes in opposite her. The tub is fucking tiny, so their knees and thighs are all pressed together, but neither of them mind. Mike lets out a small whine at the movement but goes without much of a fight.
“Here,” Bev brandishes her beer that she didn’t realise she was still holding, “drink this. It’ll make you feel better.” Mike eyes her dubiously. It's shaky scientific grounds, Bev can admit that, but the other girl grabs the neck of the bottle and takes a swig anyway so she counts it as a win anyway.
October 31st, 1993. Two girls talk in a bathtub.

Travis can feel his heartbeat through his entire body. Fuck, he hopes Shauna can’t hear it. “Okay.” He swallows, shaking himself. “Um, anyway. Truth or dare?”
Shauna startles. “Oh, right. Um… dare.”
Travis sucks his bottom lip between his teeth, thinking. Jackie’s horrible at coming up with dares — she’s a low-risk, high-gossip kinda girl. But Travis feels it bubbling out of his mouth before he can process it: “I dare you to kiss me.”
