    Summary

Steve comes home after returning the stones but he wouldn't say why, only:

    "Got my dance."

Now Bucky has to figure out if he's the one Steve wants or just what's left.

Real slow burn, like Nat Shermans.

    (Stand-alone Post-Endgame and Flag-Smasher rewrite.)

Update: I've been doing another round of proofreading and editing, currently up to chapter 24.

    Summary

    "Tell me a story."

A life in ten words. If you could condense it, if it were possible, who would you trust them with? Who would you pick to know them, speak them; to translate your own words to you after you've forgotten their original meaning?

Three years after the Battle of New York, Alexander Pierce is the President of the United States and the leader of the Global Crisis Council. Having lost its Avengers, the world remains quiet in the face of mass exterminations by the newly built Trinity weapon.

The Black Widow sends Steve Rogers, the dearly not-quite-departed Captain America, on a mission to help an old friend. Steve’s memories, and his willingness to confront them, might hold the key to recovering crucial intel to bring about Hydra’s final defeat.

…or, the one in which Steve has to help Bucky decode the Winter Soldier's activation words and realizes they're all about him.

    Summary

Bucky Barnes lives in Alaska during the 1920s after escaping from the hustle and bustle of Brooklyn. Lonely and tired of the isolation of the Alaskan tundra, he creates a partner (Steve) out of snow. Steve is full of life and brings Bucky out of his dark moods by inspiring Bucky’s smile, which is rarer than the Alaskan sun.

Based on a Russian folk story and Pulitzer Prize finalist book The Snow Child.
