Forced to live a life that was not hers to live, Princess Haruka covertly takes up the mantle of the heir apparent "prince" after the death of her mother. Stress starts to get to the princess-turned-prince as years in her peculiar position pass her by. She begins to write letters to a mother she never truly got to know as the kingdom she was doomed to inherit slowly falls apart.
Though the longing for a life left behind lingered, it never got so strong as when she eventually stumbled on a modest maid from the countryside. Combined with influence from meetings with her kingdoms very own subjects, Haruka begins to doubt her duty to her lineage.
