La vida de Kasane Teto era una mierda. Incumplía todos los estándares japoneses que implicaban tener una vida satisfactoria y productiva para la sociedad. A sus 31 años de edad estaba soltera y sin hijos. Además, vivía de alquiler en un piso que no debía ni tener los m² mínimos para vivir dignamente. Lo único de lo que Teto podía sentirse orgullosa es de tener trabajo en una empresa grande, aunque tampoco demasiado. Su vida se había vuelto desde hace años un ciclo de trabajar, dormir, repetir y sus cefaleas habían acordado alojarse en su cabeza de forma indefinida. Teto era consciente de que había tocado fondo, o eso pensaba, porque la gota que había colmado el vaso aún estaba por tocar a su puerta.
