    Summary

Aventurine makes it out of the abyss - and into a different world. Things are different here - simpler. There are no Aeons, no intergalactic factions and corporations, no Paths and Blessings. He is not naïve enough to assume that there is no cruelty and discrimination here - for there always is - but for the most part, everything is peaceful.

Here, Aventurine's priorities are getting people's coffee orders right. Fairly straight forward, if you ask him.

Except for the bit where he is surrounded by too many familiar faces, and they remind him of a place he can no longer return to. That's okay. People come and go, and so will they.

Except for the bit where they come and go and come back.

AKA. Aventurine gets dropped into a coffee-shop AU with all the memories from before. He's handling things until he's not handling things. That's okay, because he still has friends (and Dr Ratio) in this world. He just doesn't know it yet.

    Summary

Dr. Ratio and Aventurine have their own little -isms, privy and known only to each other. They fail to realise that other people don't immediately understand what they're trying to say or what they want with their own little code.

    Example 1:

“Hey, can you pass me the thing?”

    Example 2:

    “Aventurine. The thing.”

    Example 3:

“Oh, I know! This is about that thing, right??? “

Everyone else is left wondering how exactly they understand each other so well.

He reached for the door handle.

“... I actually wanted to ask you something.”

Caelus paused. Kakavasha sounded almost shy. Shy??? That's so unlike him.

“Could you…do that thing to me tonight?”

    What.

    What.

    Summary

Okhema believed Castrum Kremnos was destroyed, washed away by the Black Tide, like much of their world. But the dead, as it turned out, not only survived - they rose from the ashes in the brilliance of unseen technologies, forged for centuries in the heart of the mountains.

When a message from the King of Castrum Kremnos falls upon the square of the dying city, promising alliance and salvation, Okhema erupts in celebration. But Commander Aglaea does not share the universal delight. She knows that power never comes to ask. It comes to take.

    Or.

Prince Mydeimos's mission was disgustingly simple: arrive in Okhema, choose the most suitable omega, and forge a political marriage. But no one warned him that on the way to the holy city, a wounded beta captain would literally fall into his arms. A beta who inexplicably drives the prince's instincts haywire. A beta whose eyes are the color of morning ice, and whose aura smells of emptiness and secrets.

    Summary

It’s been about two weeks since Aventurine was dispatched from the hospital after performing his ‘final act’. For the most part, things have returned to normal, though the after effects from what happened that day still linger heavily in the air.

    Summary

A click sounds from behind Veritas: the safety of the gun no doubt now pointed at him being turned off. “Get away from that thing.”

“That thing?” Veritas spits out the word, anger boiling in his gut.

“The android,” Sunday says. “You’re an intelligent man, learned doctor. Surely you can see it was trying to use you to lower our guard.”

“Him,” Veritas says. “Him. Not it.”

His attacker lets out a hollow laugh. “Him? That there isn’t a person but a Trojan horse. A pretty facade with rotten insides, ready to open our doors to a horde of others of its kind.”

Veritas’ hands tighten into fists at his side. “You know nothing about him.”

Being an android wasn't Aventurine’s only secret, Veritas learns when he's desperately trying to patch him up. My take on a Rota Fortunae AU.
