When he realized that Alhaitham had been acting...strange ever since the night Kaveh got drunk and Alhaitham broke his hearing aids, Kaveh did what he was best at: he denied that there was a problem and ran away to the desert to clear his head and pretend it never happened.
When he came back, Alhaitham was drunk and, according to Tighnari, did it regularly because he was moping. But that couldn't be right. Alhaitham hated him.

"Wow," Kaveh said, as a senior walked by. "Look at that... there's just something about people with long hair."
Alhaitham studied the senior in question. She had hair down to her hips, and was currently laughing with some friends as she pulled it back casually into a ponytail.
Alhaitham then studied Kaveh. Kaveh looked entranced: jaw a little slack; coral eyes wide.
"You... really like long hair?"
Kaveh startled, blinked. "Yeah, I suppose I do," he said.
Alhaitham studied the flush of Kaveh's cheeks, his unrelenting gaze. "I see," he said.
Alhaitham grows his hair out. He has been growing his hair out since they were students. It falls to his hips in a river of silver and green. Kaveh looks, and looks, and looks.

These were the words confidentially uttered to Aether by the Conqueror of Demons, outside of even Paimon's hearing range, after the Chasm had nearly swallowed them all.
Fearing he'd only bring Xiao more suffering, Aether had vowed to never speak his name - and we'll see how well that goes for him.

The tablet inside the fifth Ring Ruin lead Tauro and Link to Dracozu Lake. There, the Spring of Courage sat, but more importantly, a mystery within thunderous ruins. Tauro, thirsty for new and novel knowledge, goes with Link to follow the mystery to its end. But the answer they find may not be what they were expecting.
