Summary
Mobius wasn't sure when he started risking everything for Loki but now it's a habit he can't seem to get himself out of. Having saved Loki from being pruned on the crumbling Lamentis, Mobius is given a stark reality check by Ravonna on not just Loki's future, but his own too. Crushed by the stakes at hand, one this was clear to Mobius: he had somehow fallen for the mischievous scamp.
Now, falling for said mischievous scamp is by no means an unexpected thing; Loki was quick-witted, intelligent, informed, flirtatious, willing to have a philosophical debate, and did truly have the facial configuration of a God. The issue was that someone like Mobius was not meant to fall for anyone, let alone a variant. A variant that betrayed him, who he now has to interview, and somehow keep alive.

Mobius' perspective of my S1 fanfic A Soft Spot for Broken Things that will eventually become a 5+1 fic of 'Five times Mobius protected Loki, and one time Loki protected Mobius', but for now it's just a completed one-shot.

Ethan and Benji drive to an off-the-books safe house, both barely processing the threat they face and the loss they carry. In each other they know what they're fighting for in all of its beautiful and painful clarity.

"Here, some fresh clothes." Offered Benji.Ethan's hand lingered on Benji's as he took the clothes, giving him his trademark stare.
Benji pulled away and headed to the kitchen to check the cupboards. Ethan seemed to take the hint and Benji heard the soft click of the bathroom door closing and the lock engaging.
Benji reached out his hands and steadied himself against the kitchen counter. An almost unstoppable rush of tears built up in his eyes and they spilled out in spite of his desperate attempt to blink them away. His hands rushed up to his face from the counter and he pressed his palms against his eyes harshly to try and halt the tears.

He knew he shouldn't be driving, of course he knew that.
But he was better now. Stronger. The headaches were less frequent, and he hadn't had any dizzy spells this week aside from the typical vertigo that followed him whenever he woke up, or turned his head too fast.
Plus, it was late. The roads were empty, dark stretches of pavement with no other cars in sight. No one to hit, no one to swerve around.
Just Steve and the yellow lines on the road and the knowledge that Dustin needed help.

Summary
“Good morning, Sleeping Beauty,” Dustin snarks. He rolls his eyes and heaves himself out of the passenger side of the bimmer, slamming the door behind him. He sticks his head through the passenger window, offering Steve a sarcastic sneer. “Have a good nap?”
Steve smacks his lips and swallows hard, but the odd metallic taste doesn’t leave his mouth. Dustin huffs at his lack of response and smacks the flat of his palm against the side of the car. Usually, Steve would reprimand him for that, tell the kid something about the paint job, or dents, but Dustin storms out of Steve’s sight before he can catch up to the situation. Steve’s slumped over the steering wheel, letting it press into the side of his face and his ribs, a radiating ache, but he knows the moment he moves, the pain will flare into something sharp and unbearable.
