Summary
The thing about String Theory is that some people say it suggests parallel dimensions and the like, sometimes producing near duplicates.
In this case, allow along through Casandra, Dustin's older sister, the trials and tribulations brought on by the upside down and how even with these changes they would have been led down the very same rabbit hole - at least that's what we thought - until we hit the point of divergence.

Summary
Hermione wasn’t a huge fan of quidditch – even in school – after much pleading at the hands of a certain red-haired witch she decides that one match wouldn’t hurt.
She couldn’t have been any more wrong.
Hermione left the stands that day with a one-way ticket to St Mungo’s newly remodeled regional medical center. Concussed and medicated she is sent home with strict instructions for rest. Hermione is prepared to do just that and sits at the end of her couch to watch the slow pulsing beat of the Christmas tree lights.
She is thrown for a loop when she wakes up no longer in her flat and surrounded by a mischief of people-sized rats dressed in uniform and a very familiar looking nutcracker.

Summary
Exposing muggles to the wizarding world led to Chaos. Marvolo Riddle took advantage of this and rose to power. Establishing a community of his elite and most loyal supporters, he banished all remaining wizards to live amongst muggles within the remaing Districts. Wands were outlawed in the Districts and any use of magic is considered treason and punishable by death. The Hunger Games were established to remind them of the cost of war.
A boy and girl must be offered up as tribute by each District; only this time, both muggle and magical children compete in the same arena. In a fight to the death, Hermione can't afford to lose. In a fight to the death, Draco won't let her.
