Wriothesley had died. Neuvillette knew it was a stupid idea. What human could possibly outrun a wave with that much force? He should've never let him go through with it. He should've saved Wriothesley, saved the man he loves. Now he'll never get to admit it, never truly know if what he feels was ever reciprocated. He'd lost the most important thing to him, and now Fontaine may end up below the sea from his tears.
Wriothesley dies during the scene where him and Clorinde are sealing the primordial sea water in the Fortress, Neuvillette finds out and has to cope with the grief. Neuvillette's tears cause it to rain in Fontaine, and people begin to worry it may flood.
