Summary
"Uncle IV. Did you see? Dino." He held the toy up with both arms, face shining. "It's my favourite and he always sleeps with me. Keeps the monsters away!"
IV looked at it with appropriate gravity. "Nice one, mate. He's very scary indeed. I'm sure he keeps you safe, aye?"
V squeaked with satisfaction and disappeared again.
Two minutes later he was back, this time lugging a boxed Lego set for III. He heaved it up onto III's knee.
"Uncle III. Look. Lego! Farm animals. Piggy. Ducky. Horsey." V pointed at different animals. "I'm going to build it with Daddy." He patted the box twice for emphasis, his tongue a little out.
"That's a big set, bud. Very impressive."
Another squeak. Another disappearance.

Summary
Ivy shook his head and looked down at the floor. It was going to be an awkward one to explain how much Ivy had heard about him. The horrid names Tasha had called the man when they first met, the way that Ivy had agreed that the man was an asshole for being with her while harbouring a silly childhood crush he wasn’t able to get over. How he had been too needy, dragging her down with his own mental health issues that she would complain he never did anything about.
But over the years Ivy’s view of the man had changed. Ivy started to understand a couple of years in that there was something else that had occurred. Especially when he was compared to the man now standing in front of him.
-IV finally decides to follow Sleep’s direction to his new home and is met with new challenges as he learns to coexist in a safe place.

Summary
Hey, mate. We never heard back from you about the upcoming NA tour. Did you and your lawyer get a chance to look everything over?
III sighs, forcing himself to sit upright in spite of the ache in his back and the dizziness that threatens to turn into nausea the longer that he goes without water. Dehydration was always a pain in the ass, but after three straight nights of partying, his body is practically begging for relief. He eyes the text once again, re-reading it over and over until the full weight of the words sink in. Every text he ever receives from Vessel feels like a tether around his chest, and he can’t decide whether to pull free or suffocate quietly in compliance with his wishes.
It reels him in closer to a self-image that he doesn’t want to recognize.
The point is, III doesn’t want to go.
