Summary
Gustave woke to gentle pressure on his wrist.
He blinked groggily, finding Verso crouched beside his work chair, the android's fingers wrapped carefully around his pulse point. "What are you doing?"
"Your heart rate was elevated during sleep," Verso said, matter-of-fact. "Irregular breathing patterns. I wanted to ensure you were not experiencing a medical emergency."
Gustave stared at him. "I was... dreaming. People do that."
"Oh." Verso's expression shifted slightly—confusion, maybe, or embarrassment. The micro-expressions were uncanny. "My apologies. I have logged this for future reference." He didn't let go of Gustave's wrist.
"You can let go now."
"Your pulse is still elevated."
"Because you startled me awake."
Verso stared at him, and for just a moment, something like annoyance flickered across his expression. In which Gustave comes across a destroyed android in the scrapyard. When VRS-0 wakes with no memory, neither of them are prepared for what comes next.

Summary
A protector. A strong, smart, loving brother. A dreamer. A joker. A sacrifice she had never asked for and a loss that had shattered her.
There! She’d found it. The chroma was right there, bright and bountiful and so much closer than she would have thought after all these months. Maelle grasped it and pulled, eyes screwed shut and sweat beading on her brow.
Behind her, Verso made a strangled sound. Monaco clattered to his feet, crying out, and Esquie took to the air calling, “Mon ami!”

After Maelle's victory, Gustave is struggling to adjust. If it weren't so damn pathetic, it might even be funny: the broken engineer, unable to fix himself. But with Lumière in ruins, there is no time for self-pity. His people need him, and he won't let them down.
Never again.
Now if only Verso bloody Dessendre would stop accidentally falling asleep on his furniture…
Or: Verso can't sleep unless Gustave is near. Somehow, it becomes Gustave's problem to solve — and the key to both their salvation. (Complete, updates twice a week)

Summary
Verso knows his soul is not original to him. A stitched-up, fractured, and glued-together thing, stained with memories not his own and heavy with the grief of unimaginable loss. His very existence is a farce, a tragedy played out in canvas and ink. He wants nothing so much as to end it. To give the ragged remains of a soul back to the one who created him, let her find someone else to carry the burden and the memory of the man to whom it once belonged. And yet. And yet, still, buried deep inside him is the desire to make this second-hand soul his own. To take the old discarded thing and make it into something new. To live, as they all deserve to live. All he needs is someone to show him the way.
