She's finally moved on from her long-lasting, soul destroying, frankly embarrassing crush on Colin Bridgerton, she's finally decided to overcome her fears of becoming a writer (more or less successfully) and she is about to embark on a month-long trip to a paradisiac island to see her favourite people getting married.
She really, really has everything under control.
If her estranged best friend-slash-former love of her life decides to come on the trip he's declined a few months ago, well, that's totally fine - she doesn't love him anymore. At all.

Colin abandons his travels to head home early because Penelope refuses to respond to him. He is bound and determined to get to the bottom of this when he returns, but a nasty storm hits while at sea making him feel he will never make it home as he is knocked unconscious and heading towards the bottom of the ocean.
Meanwhile
Penelope receives yet another one of Colin’s letters stating he is returning early because he cannot focus on anything but her and why she wasn’t responding to him. The last thing he put in his letter was “prepare yourself.” What a joke. That was until she had unannounced visitors claiming that Colin was gone! She should have wrote to him. She should have told him why she was angry. She should have done something besides ignore him. Now he was gone…
…and it was all her fault.I will eventually change the rating for this but we have a bit before that happens. 😁
