The mermaid stares back.
"Um," she says, laughing nervously, "hang on a moment. I'll just -" She does the one thing she always knows how to do when she gets into trouble: pull out her phone and call Dan Heng. He picks up within three rings. Before he can even get a word in, she takes a deep breath, looks to the grey skies, and says: "I'm invoking the 'no judgement' clause of our friendship."
The ensuing shout of "What did you do?!" is enough for even the mermaid to jump.

It's boring. Too boring.
All the more reason to bother Dan Heng in the archive room, scouting for fun activities for the night.
Perhaps even mix in a third member who had stayed behind.
