Summary
New York is messy, loud, brittle, and loyal to the bone. It doesn't have heroes—not really, not in the way it matters. But it has Spider-Man, and that's enough. It’ll do anything to keep him, even keep its loudest secrets in the dark.

Summary
“I had scoliosis,” Peter whispered, not looking away from where they’d heard the metal snap. He had gone pale. Bucky was sure he was a few shades lighter, himself. “That’s… that’s what I was gonna say before."
“Yeah?” Bucky asked. He loosened his grip on Peter’s shoulder, but didn’t take his hand away.
“My back still hurts sometimes,” Peter explained quietly. “But that might be because of the swinging. Hard to find a strong enough chiropractor to crack it, you know? Maybe… maybe two thousand tons of concrete would do it, though.” Bucky leveled his gaze at the kid. Peter looked back at him, swallowing hard.
“Let’s call that Plan B, okay?” Bucky suggested.
“Yeah, okay,” Peter mumbled.

Or, Peter gets caught in the collapse of a parking garage with a (mildly) concussed Bucky Barnes, and has a nice get-to-know-you sesh with our favorite super soldier while waiting for Tony to find a safe way get them out. Super chill, right? Everything's fine. Oh- and he's been impaled by two rods of rebar and can't move without risking bleeding out. That... complicates things.

Summary
In which Apollo should absolutely be in the hospital, Athena should absolutely be given paid leave, and both of them should absolutely be in real therapy with an unrelated professional. But that's pretty normal for members of the Wright Anything Agency, I guess, so life goes on as usual. As usual, meaning full of emotional repression, repeated physical injury, and relationship issues staying unresolved until they can't be ignored anymore.
(or: apollo passes out while trying to work on paperwork because he stood up too fast, and athena decides to seize the chance to wrangle him into a mood matrix therapy session. a few secrets are revealed, a nice heart-to-heart conversation is had, a rib or two is broken, and bonding ensues!)

Summary
Apollo tips his head against the window and thinks of years spent watching the holiday season pass him by from behind a wall of glass, too parent-less and too sad and not culturally-Christian enough for Christmas in sunny Los Angeles. The lights, the music, the tinsel and fake snow and the false smiles of supposedly happy families, it all always seemed like sentimental veneer to him—as though holiday cheer were something of a commodity, peddled to people with far simpler lives and far happier families than his.
He thinks, now, that he may not have it entirely right. He may, in fact, just be lonely.
