Megatron has admired Optimus Prime for... a while. Longer than he would ever admit, even to himself.
He sometimes wishes that he could tell him, but Optimus has always made it clear, in the nicest possible way, that he is not interested in him.
When all is said and done, he knows that he should be grateful. At least he has the Autobot Leader's friendship, after all. That alone is more than he could ever earn or deserve.
