Summary
Cyrus Kriticos found a perfect pawn in Dennis Rafkin. That he was homeless at 15 wasn’t really a surprise, he was a hard kid to keep in foster care. Chronic migraines and an aversion to being touched. He also, as far as everyone was concerned, lied constantly. Psychometry was a bitch. People died constantly in cities, touched constantly, every bench and subway car and seedy hotel room that was all he could afford had history. His head hurt every day, from a distant pounding behind his eyes to stabbing agony that left him blind and screaming. That he wasn’t addicted to drugs was a miracle.
