    Summary

Alastor huffed, leaning forward, voice rising with that familiar theatrically sharp edge. “Do you think I am amused? That this this deliberate avoidance would go unnoticed? That your petty games, your careful withdrawal, would not rattle me, gnaw at my patience?!” He gestured wildly, as though the air itself had been complicit in Vox’s crimes. “I am not accustomed to being ignored! Not by anyone! Certainly not by you!”

A pause. Vox leaned forward, elbows resting on his desk now, fingers tapping in silent rhythm. And then words. Complete sentences. Complete thoughts.

“I’ve lost myself in you for too long,” Vox said, and Alastor’s breath caught slightly at the weight behind the voice. “I’ve missed out on so many friendships, so much love. I don’t blame you. I did it to myself, really falling for the Radio Demon’s trap. You’re an enigma. It’s not your fault. It’s your nature.”

The words landed like blunt instruments against Alastor’s carefully constructed armour. He froze, cane halfway lifted, mouth opening and closing like a puppet caught mid performance.

or the one where vox tries (and fails) to move on.

    Summary

The world changed when the barrier broke. Monsters now walk the surface, and with them came an influx of new diseases that defy human biology and are barely understood. You, a brilliant young scientist, have been called upon to work with monsterkind to help treat these strange new conditions.

Unfortunately, your new supervisor just so happens to be a deeply cynical skeleton whose apathy clashes violently with your desperate need for productivity and some semblance of control. Your professional partnership dissolves into a heated academic rivalry where lingering eye contact is definitely - definitely - just anger.

Featuring: excessive caffeine intake, attempts at professionalism (and cooking), desperate hunts to understand magic, and two people so smart they circle right back to dumbassery.

    Summary

You fix failing businesses in the Dark World.
That’s your thing — walk in, clean up the chaos, and get out after things finally start to stay afloat.

So when you get an anonymous call begging you to save a dying studio on the edge of implosion, you assume it’s just another mess to mop up.

You weren’t expecting his face on the building.

And you sure as hell weren’t expecting him to still be running it.

Now you’re trapped in a rundown studio full of burnout, flickering neon, and a ghost from your past with too much of an ego and not a bit of self-awareness.

He hasn’t changed. He’s worse. And yet, the more the studio falls apart, the more you’re forced to deal with what neither of you ever got over…

    There’s nothing professional about this.
