God I miss the days when you could show up to a strangers farm and he’d say “Whats your name, boy?” and you’d take off your hat and hold it to your chest to better let him see your face and reply “Why I aint got one sir, on account of my mammy passed on before she could give me one” and he’d tell you he’s real damn sorry to hear that and ask what he can do for you and you’d tell him that you can’t read nor even write neither but you’re mighty good with horses and can mend them fallen fence posts what you saw on your way in and won’t ask for nothing much more than a hot meal and a warm barn to sleep in and he’d keep his wife and daughters inside but send his boy who aint for married even though his mama tells him he needs a woman out with a lantern and some stew at night and the two of you’d get to talking and he’d throw you his flask to take a swig from and watch you drinking from it while he leant against the door frame and when he finally got called back on up to the house again he’d take a sip from it too real slow-like like it weren’t the whiskey what he were tryna savorWARNING: Halfway through this story, it becomes about family loss and tuberculosis.

Summary
Wade doesn’t let it go. He doesn’t make a big deal out of it as Logan starts to get bigger, but he doesn’t ignore it either. He takes a two pronged approach. He even made a little list he keeps tucked against his left tit, right over his heart.
Offense:
Carrying snacks in his pockets.
Making sleepytime tea for the both of them.
Making dinner more often, because it seems like Logan is more willing to eat when Wade cooks.Defense:
Gently chiding Logan by telling him he’s too muscular already & he’ll make Wade feel inadequate.
Flirting with the older man absently as positive reinforcement.
Pointing out no matter how pronounced his muscles, or alternatively how soft his stomach, he’s always strong.It’s all sensitive, overreaching stuff to say. But that’s the thing about having a loud mouth that never shuts up and is always joking, people don’t listen too hard or take you too seriously. As long as he couches it in over dramatics and a silly wink it’s almost like he’s not saying anything at all.
