Waverly is visiting her sister for a week at University. She planned to meet her at a Halloween party but stumbles across a gorgeous flustered redhead in quite possibly the most adorable costume she's ever seen who turns her night right on its head.
Nicole lost a bet to Wynonna and is now spending the night trying to hide from the drunken college students at the Halloween party happening in her flat but a chance encounter with the most beautiful girl she's ever seen has her forgetting all about her embarrassing costume.

Summary
Crossing Paths is a story about a young Police recruit Nicole Haught who is still training at the Academy. Her life is thrown upside down when she loses her Aunt "Calamity" Jane. Her performance suffers and she becomes a target of harassment from a misogynistic bully.
She tries to find herself again and this journey is ignited when her path crosses with the most amazing person she has ever met Waverly Earp.
"Nicole had always been an outgoing person, confident and relatively carefree, however, she was definitely not feeling herself of late. Some of her fellow recruits from the Academy would definitely agree as they were seeing a very different side to Nicole and some may even say compared to before she was behaving a bit recklessly. She had always been the star recruit of this intake, first over the wall and someone you would want to have with you in a life and death situation. However, something was off and no one knew this more than Nicole."
