Summary
There are several things that the dwarves don't know about the hobbit that is traveling with them. Things that Bilbo is glad to let them find out for themselves along the way.
The first is that he's prepared for anything. His mother used to quiz him about what he'd do in any situation - from relatives to trolls - and Bilbo never disappointed her with his answers. Riding a pony all day gives him plenty of time to plan for everything.
The second is that he can throw a stone or any other small object hard enough to embed it several inches into a tree trunk. His accuracy is uncanny even by Shire standards. He's quite proud of it.
The third is that he doesn't actually say so many proverbs when at home but it seems to annoy the dwarves so he spends time thinking up all the ones he's heard before.
And last, hobbits scold like it is no one's business. The Dwarves he's traveling with really have no idea what will happen if they truly piss him off.

Summary
James met Regulus on the coast.
December of 1978. Standing at the edge of the world, seconds away from the step that will send him over the precipice.
Regulus is running from a war James has never heard of. James is no one, living out lonely, meaningless days in the small town where he grew up.
They both come to the cliffs to die. Walking away sends the pieces tumbling. A war, a prophecy, and a deal to spend the last two weeks of their lives together.
The first day of death or the first day of life—it's hard to tell the difference.

The Black Apothecary lies just on the border of Hogsmeade. Wizards and witches near and far come to stock their potions from Regulus’ shop. And business is good.
At the start of a new term, professors stop in for their needs, his brother and Remus included. But it’s an almost forgotten familiar face made new that makes today special, when a grown James Potter comes into the shop requesting something rather unusual. A potion to calm his heart and head. A request James would very much like to keep between the two of them. A business proposal. A secret.
As Regulus tries different iterations of the potion James requested, the two start to grow close through session after session of failed potions with strange effects. Regulus starts to fear the potion James needs is an impossible task, and that he will fail his new friend in his promise to help him.
Or, Regulus and James try a bunch of weird potions and fall in love in the process.

Regulus Black had enough on his plate: a toxic family environment, no relationship with his brother, a brain constantly working against himself… The last thing he needed was a bloody radioactive spider to bit him, turning him into the “hero of London”, the “incredible Spider-Man”.
You would think having the opportunity to save the city had only upsides, but we’re talking about Regulus’ life, that doesn’t happen here either.
James Potter, his brother’s best friend and his own mortal enemy, proclaimed himself his number one fan. He was obsessed with Spiderman, with getting to know him and prove his loyalty to the superhero. Nothing could stop him, the wanker. Regulus was damned.
