Summary
There were three things Mordecai didn’t do: nightmares, messes and sentimentality.
So it perturbed him a great deal when it happened. He began starting awake from his sleep, heart pounding, fur slippery with sweat. At first he’d wanted to chalk it up to a noise outside, a bad meal he’d eaten, but after several nights passed the same way it became undeniable: he was having recurring nightmares.
And the worse thing of all – he couldn’t even remember what it was he was dreaming about.
