Summary
Mira and Zoey don’t know this yet (they will, one day soon, they will), but Rumi died for the first time the Monday after her eleventh birthday.
Or
Rumi inhaled, the rush of air filling her lungs, inflating that tiny balloon called hope trapped behind her ribs.
“I love you, Celine.”
The words tumbled out of her gracelessly, but so so sweetly. She waited, and all the while, that little balloon grew and grew, the plastic skin of it stretching and thinning with every second before—
“You too,” Celine said back.
‘Pop.’
“Celine,” Rumi tried again, voice shaking as tears she didn’t even know she still had left to shed began to drip down her left cheek. “Celine, I said I love you.”
Or
If demons (even half-demons) could kill themselves, there probably wouldn't be many left. Rumi doesn't know this, yet. She learns.

Summary
Rumi has never been blind to the way people look at her. She’s been in the public eye since she was ten years old. Being looked at—controlling the public’s eyes and wagging tongues, or handling it with grace—has been as much a constant lesson in her life as singing or swinging a sword. She’s good at it. Very good. But there has always been a safety net—they’re not really seeing her. They’re seeing Mi-yeong’s daughter, or Celine’s ward, or the face of HUNTR/X.
This is supposed to change that.

Summary
They don’t hear from Celine.
Rumi won’t lie. Despite all her media and PR training, she’s not… she’s not nearly as gracious as she pretends to be. She’s not tempered enough to not want her big, cathartic, vindicating moment, where she gets to be right for once in her life—to see Celine admit that she was wrong, maybe even give an implied apology if Rumi could be audacious enough to hope for it.
But. No. The Honmoon is sealed for good, the world is saved, the ultimate duty of the Hunters fulfilled after centuries—
And silence.

Summary
The first shiver curled up her spine like fire, crawling through her muscles and making her knees buckle. Her lungs burned with every ragged breath, and a pressure rose behind her eyes so intense it felt like they might shatter. Bones creaked and shifted unnaturally. Her fingers were stretched into sharp claws, her ribs bent unnaturally and every tendon screamed in protest. Rumi collapsed onto the floor, her teeth gnashing as fur erupted along her arms and spine, prickling, itching, spreading in angry, hot waves.
Faintly she registers that she is lying in some back alley, and not confined in the safety of the basement like usual. No chains to hold her down, no steel door to prevent her rampage. As panic flooded her whole body, she picked up the soft voices of her two closest friends slowly coming closer, before everything went black and her mind was overtaken by something else.Or in other words: A werewolf Rumi fanfic

Summary
Mira raises an eyebrow. “You violently flinching and crashing into the wall is nothing?”
Rumi winces. She doesn’t want to lie, but how is she supposed to tell the truth?
How is she supposed to tell them that the night of the idol awards won’t leave her mind?
That it’s their faces—twisted and vicious—that has her shaking in the middle of the night, holding back tears.
That she knows in her soul that it wasn’t them on that stage but her mind can’t seem to forget the stupid smirks, the rough hands, the fucking song—and her body can’t help but flinch, can’t help the hammering that starts in her chest, can’t help the sweat the builds up in her back as her entire body locks up.
She can’t tell them that.
OR
Rumi’s haunted by the night of the Idol Awards. Memories of sharp, cruel words whispered into her ears; of light glinting off the blades she’d always fought beside as they were pointed at her.
But Rumi’s a coward and a fool and refuses to tell the two closest people in her life what's bothering her.
They notice, though, and luckily for Rumi, Mira and Zoey care far too much to let her suffer alone.
