Summary
Squished between two apartment complexes, towered over by neighboring stores in the area, existed a humble flower shop named 'Vanilla's Orchids.' Of course, this stop didn't just sell orchids; a variety of flowers bloomed within the shop, meticulously cared for by the shop's owner- one Pure Vanilla.
Day in and day out, Pure Vanilla would be found at the front desk waiting to help a customer in need. Customers have noted that they have never seen the man take a break- only ducking into the back to replace bundles of flowers that had been purchased. And yet, he always seemed to be happy. His smile never wilted, and he would hum as he swept the floors of dirt and debris.
No one knew the man other than the fact that he loved his job.
And then, one day, there was a blue bird on his desk- bundled up in soft blankets and resting under a heated lamp.

or, Pure Vanilla is the owner of a flower store, and is accompanied by a dramatic bird demon named Shadow Milk- and he couldn't be happier.

Summary
There were few things as wonderful as a slow, quiet morning in Pure Vanilla's opinion.
From the warm golden light slowly creeping from one edge of the room to the other; sharing its lazy warmth with the bedsheets as it moved along. To the stillness of the dawn as it began to be replaced with the songs of the early blueberry birds and raisin crows. Or perhaps just the simple joy of being able to share an intimate experience within the almost eternally peaceful moments before the rest of the world came beckoning.
An overdramatic groan however, soon showed his thoughts on the moment were not shared by the other in his quarters.
Or: I drew Shadow Milk with constellation freckles and my brain would not let me work on anything else until this headcannon was also penned somewhere

Summary
The minute The Fount opened their eyes they were already mourning the life they could have had. They couldn’t speak in the beginning; cramming in all possible Knowledge into one vessel tends to overwhelm the body. It did not help that the Witches prioritized their mind rather than overall constitution. Their limbs were baked frail, and the Witches still decided to bound their body with a keyhole in their chest.
A safety measure, the Witches whispered above them. It was hard to hear, and their radiance blinded them thoroughly. But in their mind, two ideals clashed. The consequence of being all-knowing is that you know all their secrets. You know what they hide; what they seek to achieve in baking you and your fellow virtues. Here is the problem:
The Witches were both their mother and monster.
Mother, as they had shaped their dough with gentle hands, carefully rounding out the edges and delicately sculpted their eyes, mouth, and hair. They gifted you with a purpose to fulfill, and have the upmost faith that you, in your very short existence of being aware, could achieve it.
But you could argue they were monsters, too.

Summary
A crack in space-time leaves the Fount of Knowledge standing in front of Shadow Milk. Everything he used to be, everything he abandoned. Everything he is now, everything he has lost.
Let's not think too deeply about that, shall we?
