    “Trust me.” Hal whispered, hands reaching up to grab Batman’s face, thumbs gently tracing his sharp cheekbones. Batman didn’t even have time to respond before Hal was screwing his eyes shut and yanking the cowl off of his face. The moment the mask hit the ground, Hal pushed forward, connecting their lips. There was a flash of light as his Green Lantern suit disappeared, leaving Hal Jordan standing there in his aviator and jeans.

    Hal was definitely going to have to apologize to Batman later.

    Hal didn't mean for it to be anything more than a distraction. Too bad for him, there is a reason why Bruce makes the plans.

    The night had derailed completely out of his initial plan.  
     
    It was another gala night. Wayne Enterprises’ annual charity event this time. Bruce had gone through the necessary steps in making sure that the public, the people, see Bruce Wayne in the flesh and have something to talk about until next time someone started wondering what the billionaire was up to again. It had been a routine.  
     
    And really, it was going well. He just did not account for one singular Clark Kent to show up in the gala to throw him off balance and sweep him off his feet.
