When Ronin invited the darling writer to his server, he had no idea that Jae was actually a system made up of five individuals—a system with which he had history.
Having grown up in Angelwood's, predominantly working class, French, Roman Catholic parish, Jae had been mostly outside the sphere of influence of the upper-echelon, Anglo-Christian, Estridges. As such, they didn't really cross paths with Ronin back in those days—except once. As Jae uncovers their memories of that time, how will it influence the way their relationship develops with Ronin, and the other members of the Slaughterhouse Losers? Perhaps more importantly, what havoc will the five of them reap in Uptown?
Note: The narration style is experimental in the beginning, as it's mostly told from the perspective of the system members talking to each other. It switched to a more conventional third-person limited a few chapters in.
