Summary
Timothy Bradford thrives on control - on the field, in his cases, and especially in his personal life. Or at least, that’s what he tells everyone. Including his mother.
Lucy Chen, on the other hand, lives in controlled chaos. As a doctor in St. Stephen Hospital, she’s all warmth, quick smiles, and stubborn compassion - everything Tim finds distracting.
They clash. Constantly.
Every accident scene seems to end with Tim in her ER, trading sharp words and sharper glances. They don’t agree on anything… except maybe that the other is impossible.
But when Tim’s mother suddenly shows up, asking to meet the “girlfriend” he definitely claimed to have, he finds himself doing the unthinkable.
He asks Lucy Chen for help.
A fake relationship. A temporary fix. No feelings involved.
It should have been simple.
Except nothing about Lucy Chen has ever been simple. And somewhere between staged dinners, accidental touches, and pretending a little too well… lines start to blur.
