Summary
The war ended and the summer is over – Hermione is returning to Hogwarts to finish her education, Ron is going to auror training, Professor Snape is resuming his duties as Head of Slytherin and Potions Master. On the surface everything seems perfect.
However, after a turbulent summer, Hermione is less and less certain that Ron's the one for her.
Ron, however, just knows what their relationship needs. And when he decides to give it a gentle little push in the right direction, it turns all their lives upside down.
Initial Ron/Hermione, but this is a Severus/Hermione story though and through. It’s a fast paced, short series (that started out as a one shot in my head) with (I hope) an interesting but simple plot and quite a bit of explicit smut.
Note: I think Ron and Hermione aren’t a good match for each other, and while I think Ron is a dingus in cannon, I don’t think he would do something this stupid. However, Ron-bashing is my guilty pleasure, and in this story, he has no redeemable qualities. You've been warned.Disclaimer: A student/teacher relationship in real life is never acceptable. Summary
“Gentlemen,” Severus said coldly, “you’ve let yourself become bested by a woman. At last year's exams, each and every one of you lost to a mere girl. This, gentlemen, is below the bar.”
The seventh year boys looked stunned, some of them reddening with mortification, while whispers and snickers raced through the room. All eyes landed on the girl in question, the only witch of age in the school. Some looked at her with alarmingly appraising eyes - and Severus vowed that he’d keep an eye on her conduct - while others looked at her with seething envy and anger.
Victorian England wasn’t merciful to the poor, and the Wizarding world even less so. Facing a bleak future as a governess, Hermione knew that her only other suitable option after Hogwarts was to marry, obeying a husband for the rest of her life.
Either way, as a Muggleborn orphan her chances were slim, because she was worth no more than chattel in the eyes of society. Whatever happened, she was obliged to be grateful.

Summary
Sometimes, the claiming resulted in couples that had absolutely nothing in common except for a mating bite given during a frenzy of shark-like Alpha behaviour.
To Hermione it seemed harsh and unfair, to have your life twisted like that just because someone managed to sink their teeth into your flesh in a fight, like there was a sickening randomness to one of life’s most important events.
