In which Wei Ying kinda, sorta, absolutely does not kidnap Yuan to raise as his own, and Lan Zhan doesn't even have to be talked into helping.

    Summary

Lan Wangji only came to the YunmengJiang’s summer camp at the behest of his brother and uncle (and the worsening Gusu weather (and perhaps his father too)). He never expected to chase rabbit-holes and figure out his feelings for one mysterious yet awfully shameless head disciple, of all things.

Who’d have known that the rush of adolescence can be this exhausting? He’s still sixteen, for goodness’ sake!

    Summary

“You good?” Jiang Cheng asks, suddenly.
    Wei Ying snorts. “Describe ‘good’.”
“Don’t do that again,” says his brother, chiding.
    “Do what?”
“Snort. And sarcasm. It’s unbecoming of you as an Empress.”
“I’m not married yet,” Wei Ying replies, all too bitter.
If Jiang Cheng has a retort, he doesn’t hear it.
From the distant sky, there descends a flock of white, their roughly feathered wings flapping behind them. When they land in front of Wei Ying and Jiang Cheng, the former notices the uniform white of their robes, the pristine purity in their elegant gait.
They lower to their knees in one smooth motion. “Your Majesty,” they greet in unison.
They are round-eyed when they lift their heads to see him, owlish and…well,
owlish. They are owls, after all. The entire Lan Parliament is full of owls.

or: a snowy owl emperor! lan zhan asks for songbird raven! wei ying’s hand in marriage. it all goes about as well as you would expect.

    Summary

Carp Tower hadn’t changed. The grey brick walls remained as dreary and dull as ever, the flora of the land just as wild and etiolated, and the house itself just as alive.

And that was the one thing that Wei Wuxian feared the most in this house: it breathed. In the night, it moved and wept. During the day, it slept.

“Jie, you know how this house is.”

“We have enough room to spare. Eleven rooms, A-Xian. I’m sure the house wouldn’t mind another two guests.”

    Wei Wuxian didn’t reply.

It didn't matter whether the house minded guests or not. In fact, he’s pretty sure the house would love another two guests.

It’d welcome them with open arms, hug them tight, tighter, and never let them go until they suffocated in its arms and even then, it still wouldn’t let go.

(or: realtor-slash-house-ghost-cleaner wei wuxian meets detective lan wangji (a pyschic, he suspects) and his odd son, while they brave the strange nights carp tower brings (oh, and all the jin siblings, who wei wuxian grew up with, are dead))

    Summary

Now, Wei Wuxian will never admit to this, but Old Man Lan tends to be right one way or another whenever he points out Wei Wuxian’s mistakes. Terrifyingly accurate.

So when he claims Wei Wuxian’s regular wet dreams and morning woods have managed to spawn a baby from the stars above — based on the many cautionary tales he’s somehow perused before — Lan Qiren is, unfortunately, correct.

“Congratulations, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji! Here goes your baby! Fresh out of the oven. Please water and feed regularly. Do not forget to pray. Best wishes! :)”

    Wei Wuxian goes still.

or: A baby arrives in a basket in the middle of Wei Wuxian's dorm room in the middle of the night, addressed to one Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji and they...try and live with it.
