Summary
Adora, anxious to get a fresh start after the death of her parents and twin brother in a car accident, moves to the small town of Bright Moon. She’s far from happy about it and just wants to forget about her ongoing complications from the accident, graduate, and get out again.
Catra is just as desperate to get out of Bright Moon herself. Stuck in a house with an emotionally abusive mother and keeping a lot of secrets, Catra knows that the only way she’ll ever feel okay is if she gets the hell out. After a string of awkward encounters, both are perfectly fine with keeping a mutual avoidance policy in place.
But then the first body is found, and Catra and Adora are thrown together in grizzly circumstances where one thing is certain.
Nothing will ever be the same again.

There’s not a body. It would be unnerving, if Glimmer weren’t already used to mourning somebody without a grave. The closest thing they have now is an ice sculpture Frosta made for She-Ra, standing in the garden, tall and preserved. A princess, a story, a legend.

"She-Ra is gone," should have been a statement that ended the war. It should have been a victory. For bitter months, there was nothing Catra had wanted more than to get rid of She-Ra for good, she just wanted Adora to come back home. Adora herself wasn't supposed to disappear in the process.

Summary
The police have given up. The man in charge insists there is nothing wrong, that everything is perfectly perfect. Yet nothing about this sudden murder at a large tech firm in the biggest city around feels right. Everyone is a suspect. Everyone is guilty.
Catra is the unfortunate PI tasked with fitting the infinite pieces together. No one was seen entering, no one was seen exiting. Every corner of this tragedy is tied tight, far tighter than any police detective cared to investigate. Catra is expected to untie these ends, even if it means jumping through hoops set by the company's shady business owner and his right hand woman, an ex-military security supervisor who knows way more than she’s letting on.
