Friendless loser Penelope 'Penny' Parker was just getting into the swing of being the one and only Spider-'Man' when Ned Leeds, the nerdy kid who sits at the back of her class, accidentally discovers her identity.
Now Penny must prevent others from finding out her secret, handle Spider-Man's rising fame amongst the public, as well as deal with the dark secrets of her classmates, many of whom are far more than they appear.
Not to mention the Avengers seem to have taken an interest in the newest young superhero on the block...

Kristen stared at the newspaper her mother had laid out on the table. On the front page was an article about a diplomatic scandal and rumors of a war brewing. Kristen didn’t pay attention to any of that. Her gaze was firmly locked on the picture that accompanied the article.
Two elven girls looked back at her. They were surrounded by people, reporters or lawyers or something, but they were the main focus of the image.
And they looked so scared.

Right after Adaine fails her Hudol tests Aelwyn reports their parents to the police.
This causes them to loose guardianship of their daughters and the Abernant sisters are placed in the care of a human family that worships Helio.

Aelwyn pointed her fork at her and scrunched her nose. “The Seacaster boy? Really, Adaine, I can’t imagine you tumbling around with those martial classes,” she said in a tone that said she absolutely could imagine Adaine in that situation. “I really don’t understand how you can be so entertained by him. He’s dreadfully obtuse.”
Adaine clenched her hand into a fist and debated how long she would be grounded for if she stabbed her sister. “He’s––” Kind, wonderful, brave, awesome. Arianwen leveled a heavy look at her. This was a test, then. “Useful. Nicer than you anyway. We study together.”
The jab meant nothing, no one in her family had ever been nice, as far as Adaine knew. But Mother’s lip twitched, not into a smile, never a smile for Adaine, but pleased enough for Adaine to know she passed.

Kristen shoves her slightly, and Fig pats her on the back, shoving her lightly towards the church in retribution. “But seriously. If you need to get the hell out of there…”
“German Shepherd mode. Got it!” Kristen says, and with a pair of finger guns, slips into the church.
Fig’s vision clears, and she stumbles as she catches the drops of blood pooling in the palm of her hand.
