Ages before the Great Battle, the CLans' truly greatest battle yet is unfolding. RiverClan has turned against all the others, and ThunderClan is on the brink of extinction. ShadowClan fights its own war with an unseen enemy, while WindClan is slowly but surely being torn to pieces from the inside out. In the midst of chaos and uncertainty, an unwelcome kitten is born. But with a twisted foreleg, she will never acquire the grace nor the agility WindClan so highly prizes. And so, segregated amongst her own Clanmates for something that never took place, Lastkit carries scars and a curious burden from a young age.
Yet she is determined to prove them all wrong, to bring a new peace and a new age to the Clans - a revolution. How long will it take for this naive, hope-filled young cat to realize that nothing is ever as it seems? For though you can search the whole world for what you want, what you need may always have been right back at home.Series

The aftermath of the battle left ThunderClan reeling. With Jayfeather worn to the bone and Lionblaze traumatised, Dovewing knew she could not, would not allow history to repeat itself. Her children would not be broken by her actions.
Canon-divergent, I suppose, after The Last Hope. I haven't read the new series and I don't plan to.

Barnes is now glaring at him for some reason. It's somewhat terrifying but also, oddly, a little reassuring— because that's emotion right there, which means there's still somebody behind those eyes. Somebody who seems to think Sam is being a bit slow on the uptake. "Time parameters exceeded. Mission failed."
"Wait." Sam narrows his eyes. "Is this some kind of... report? Debriefing?"
"Mission report," confirms Barnes, looking pleased. Well, looking slightly less murderous than before.
