It came to Preservation packed into the hold of that much bigger ship, the one that’s become the station, with our grandparents. Well, not Gurathin’s grandparents, he came later.

Summary
SecUnit looking disgusted was directly counterproductive to the situation, but the thought of explaining this ridiculous serial drama of a plan made Gurathin want to walk into traffic.
Can you explain this to it? he sent to Perihelion.
No.
Bastard. No wonder SecUnit was friends with it.
Or: Murderbot and Dr. Gurathin have to pretend to be a couple. Gurathin is convinced that he has it worse.

“I promise you that this wasn’t my idea,” Gurathin muttered.
“Whose was it?”
He couldn’t risk leaving you behind while he found back-up, said ART, startling me so badly that my efficiency dropped another two points. This was the most logical course of action.
“You’re dead to me,” I said.
Or: Murderbot and Dr. Gurathin have to pretend to be a couple. It’s unclear which one of them is having a worse time of it.

"Why do you take it all off?"
Gurathin flinched. I hadn't realized how absorbed he'd grown by his little ritual.
"It's not good for the skin to leave it overnight."
Humans. So fragile. "But you have to put it back on every morning," I pointed out. "That seems like a hassle."
Gurathin was dabbing carefully at his other eye. "Leaving it on too long gives you wrinkles," he said.
"You already have wrinkles."Or: Murderbot & Gurathin vs. make-up.

Summary
SecUnit and Gurathin agree to be married, temporarily, for ease of travel during an assignment. After a violent encounter and a bad wormhole jump, they crash land on a habitable planet and discover their entire ship is suffering from amnesia. Nobody remembers anything from their past. The ship's records are badly scrambled. The planet is too far for anyone to reach safely. When Gurathin and SecUnit find the record that indicates they are married, they build a life together as marital partners, not knowing their union is based on a lie.

Sometimes, for Murderbot's sake, ART will pretend it's not watching. Its little idiot has figured out a thing.
... It has also remained so oblivious of others, ART has thrown its hands up and gone "fix yourself."

For all his augmentations, the man Gurathin is kissing isn’t much like a human-bot construct, but he’s as close as Gurathin is going to get. He’s tall and pale, which helps, and has a quick, mischievous smile, which doesn’t.
Gurathin tries to get over his newfound feelings for Murderbot, the best way he knows how.

Murderbot doesn't have a soul, ergo, it shouldn't have to worry about soul bonds. Unfortunately for it, that isn't the case. Clients who are soulbonded are liabilities, as their emotional states are in flux as they feel their bonded partner's feelings.
And then it meets ART.

Summary
I sent ART the edited file along with a snapshot of my recent haptic sensor logs, which mostly looked like [deleted] [deleted] [deleted].
ART took a moment to process that. Your difficulty with physical touch extends beyond merely touching or being touched by humans, it surmised.
I guess, yeah. I bristled at calling it a ‘difficulty’: it wasn't hard to touch things, I just didn't like doing it. But I had a system for dealing with that, so whatever, it wasn't an issue.

Or, ART wants to make Murderbot comfortable. (And yes, it would like to feel that for itself, too.)
