The scent of slick is an orchestra, starting up the music, and the lavender, growing stronger, asks Sonny’s last note of commandeering mint out for a dance.
“You are not a property,” Carisi still makes sure to say. “To belong to anyone.”
“Good,” Rafael says, raising his chin and effectively cutting the distance, so that their lips graze when they move. “Now fuck me so hard we’ll both forget it.”

And not just grinning, no, that’s Barba’s special ‘I might know of a place you’ll like to come in’ grin, a thing that Sonny is known for falling for on a couple of distinct occasions. That damn quirk of those pretty and capable lips, a gateway to Hell – Rafael Barba must be an agent of the dark side, there’s no other reason for his looks to cause such sinful desire otherwise.
The guy leans closer, crowding Barba against the bar with sure movements, and Barba’s posture arches in response – a cat asking for more attention and affection, a siren leading another sailor to imminent doom.
